June 2019 Groom of the Month

On Friday June 28^th, after the first race, the FHBPA saluted Everardo Parra Barcena as the June Groom of the Month. A native of Mexico, married with one child, Everardo has been working with horses for the last 16 years since arriving in the states.
He began in New York, and worked in the barn of the late Rick Violette. Everardo has been in South Florida for the past 10 years and has been a fixture in the barn of Gilberto Zerpa. Everardo has a brother in the racing business, currently working at Belmont Park. The FHBPA is pleased to recognize the efforts of Everardo in naming him the Groom of the Month.
