The FHBPA is pleased to announce that Jose “Manny” Parra has been selected as the July Groom of the Month. Manny works in the barn of trainer Kathy Davey, who has succeeded her late husband Milt Wolfson. Kathy is very complimentary of Manny’s work.
A native of Durango Mexico, where his family still resides, Manny (55) has been a fixture in the Wolfson barn for 30 years, almost unheard of in this modern day. Manny believed that Milt was always his “father figure” and Milt came to rely on him over the years to the point of considering him a foreman in the barn.
We salute Manny Parra as this month’s recipient and encourage all trainers to come by the office and nominate worthy candidates from their barns.
