The deadline to claim funds from accounts with the Florida Horsemen’s Bookkeeper Corporation (FHBC) that have been inactive for five years or more is fast approaching. Letters have been sent to the owners of all inactive FHBC accounts, detailing the simple steps needed to claim the balance in those accounts. YOU MUST CONTACT THE FTHA OFFICE NO LATER THAN MONDAY, APRIL 25, IF YOU HAVE FUNDS IN A DORMANT FHBC ACCOUNT TO PREVENT THOSE FUNDS FROM BEING TURNED OVER TO THE STATE.
Funds in these inactive accounts will be turned over to the State of Florida by April 30, 2022, if we are unable to locate the accountholders. After that date, funds can be collected by going to https://www.fltreasurehunt.gov/.
