Gulfstream Park will host the “Clasico Internacional del Caribe” for the second straight year on December 8th.
Horses are expected in from Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama and Jamaica.
They will be vying for top honors in the 5 races carded, culminating with the $300,000 “Caribbean Derby” on a day that produced plenty of national pride and excitement a year ago. That day saw jockey Irad Ortiz notch 3 Clasico victories including the big one aboard Mexico’s filly Jara Jara.
