CLAIMING CROWN AT GULFSTREAM DECEMBER 3

The Winter 2016-2017 Championship Meet at Gulfstream Park opens with the 18th running of the Claiming Crown races on December 3, 2016. The Claiming Crown is hosted by Gulfstream for the fifth consecutive year and offers nine starter stakes totaling $1.1 million in purses. This year’s edition marks the first year of a new 3-year agreement entered into between TOBA, the National HBPA, Gulfstream Park and the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, Inc.
Claiming Crown Preview Day will be held at Laurel Park on November 1, 2016 with nine “win and your in” races for each of the Claiming Crown races. Entries for Claiming Crown Preview races at Laurel close October 29, 2016. Kentucky Downs has already hosted two “win and your in” Claiming Crown races with Team Block’s Cammack, trained by Chris Block earning a spot in the Emerald and Patricia’s Hope, LLC’s Daddy’s Boo, trained by Larry Rivelli, earning a spot in the Tiara.
