ANYONE WITH A LICENSE AND ACCESS TO THE BARN AREA MUST BE REGISTERED WITH HISA BY JULY 1
The process is not perfect, and HISA is still working to correct issues. Go to hisaus.org to register. If you have any problems, call the FTHA Office at (954) 457-3516.
EVERY HORSE MUST BE REGISTERED WITH HISA BEFORE IT WILL BE ALLOWED TO RACE
There will be a grace period where horses will be allowed to enter. If the horse is not yet registered at entry time, the trainer will be notified and will have until scratch time to get the horse registered. If the horse is not registered by scratch time, it will be scratched. When the grace period ends, Racing Offices will not be allowed to take entries for unregistered horses.
ALL HORSES MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE THEY HAVE AN OFFICIAL TIMED WORKOUT
The best practice is to register the horse as soon as it comes into your barn. There have been issues with registering unnamed horses.
TRAINERS MUST KEEP DETAILED TREATMENT RECORDS
Trainers do not have to submit treatment records, but they must be available for inspection, and they must be available for transfer to the new trainer if you have a horse claimed from you. We have attached a template for record keeping that you can use if you like.
TRAINERS MUST GET TREATMENT RECORDS FOR HORSES SHIPPING INTO THEIR STABLES
If you get a new horse into your stable from the farm, you must get the last 30 days of treatment records for that horse and keep them with your treatment records. If the horse has been off the track for 60 days or more, you must also get the last 30 days of exercise records.
TRANSFER OF CLAIMED HORSE TREATMENT RECORDS
If you have a horse claimed from you, you must transfer the treatment records to the new trainer within 3 days of the claim.
PROHIBITED PRACTICES
You can no longer pinfire, freeze fire or blister a horse.
THERAPEUTIC TREATMENTS
Horses cannot receive therapies such as magnetic wave or laser within 48 hours of a race or official timed workout.
SHOCK WAVE THERAPY
Horses will be placed on the Vet’s List for 30 days (no racing or breezing).
HORSE SHOES (Goes into effect August 1, 2022)
No traction devices are allowed from front and hind limb shoes with one exception: A full (outer) rim that is 2mm or less in height from ground surface of shoe is permitted as long as a toe grab is not present on the shoe. No traction devices are allowed on front and hind limb shoes on turf.
RIDING CROP VIOLATIONS – DQ OF THE HORSE
A jockey is limited to six strikes with the crop per race. If the jockey goes over the limit by 4 or more strikes, the horse will be disqualified from the purse.

TODOS LOS CABALLOS DEBEN ESTAR REGISTRADOS EN HISA ANTES DE SER PERMITIDOS PARA CORRER
Habrá un período de gracia en el que se permitirá la entrada de caballos. Si el caballo aún no está registrado, el entrenador será notificado y tendrá hasta el momento inicial para registrar el caballo. Si el caballo no está registrado, será rayado. Cuando finalice el período de gracia, las oficinas de carreras no podrán aceptar inscripciones de caballos no registrados.
TODOS LOS CABALLOS DEBEN REGISTRARSE ANTES DE TENER UN ENTRENAMIENTO OFICIAL CRONOMETRADO
La mejor forma es registrar el caballo tan pronto que lo tenga en su establo. Ha habido problemas con el registro de caballos sin nombre.
LOS ENTRENADORES DEBEN MANTENER REGISTROS DETALLADOS DEL TRATAMIENTO
Los entrenadores no tienen que enviar registros de tratamiento, pero deben estar disponibles para inspección y deben estar disponibles para transferirlos al nuevo entrenador si tiene un caballo que le reclaman. Tenemos una forma para el mantenimiento de registros que puede usar si lo desea.
LOS ENTRENADORES DEBEN OBTENER REGISTROS DE TRATAMIENTO PARA LOS CABALLOS ENVIADOS A SUS ESTABLOS
Si obtiene un caballo nuevo en su establo desde la granja, debe obtener los últimos 30 días de registros de tratamiento para ese caballo y mantenerlos con sus registros de tratamiento. TRANSFERENCIA DE REGISTROS DE TRATAMIENTO DE CABALLOS RECLAMADOS
Si tiene un caballo que le reclaman, debe transferir los registros de tratamiento al nuevo entrenador dentro de los 3 días de a la reclamación.
PRÁCTICAS PROHIBIDAS
Ya no puedes punto de fuego, punto de fuego frío o blister a un caballo.
TRATAMIENTOS TERAPÉUTICOS
Los caballos no pueden recibir terapias como ondas magnéticas o láser dentro de las 48 horas previas a una carrera o un entrenamiento cronometrado oficial.
TERAPIA DE ONDAS DE CHOQUE
Los caballos se colocarán en la Lista de veterinarios durante 30 días (sin carreras ni breezing).
ZAPATOS DE CABALLO (Entra en vigor el 1 de agosto del 2022)
No se permiten dispositivos de tracción en los zapatos de las extremidades delanteras y traseras, con una excepción: se permite un borde completo (externo) que tenga una altura de 2 mm o menos desde la superficie del suelo del zapato, siempre que no haya un agarre para los dedos en el zapato. No se permiten dispositivos de tracción en los zapatos de las extremidades delanteras y traseras en el césped.
VIOLACIONES DE LA FUSTA – DQ DEL CABALLO
Un jockey está limitado a seis strikes con la fusta por carrera. Si el jinete supera el límite por 4 o más strikes, el caballo será descalificado del bolso.
